It's so funny how time just recycles itself. I have deja vu so often, probably too often. I feel as though I've only lived 5 years of life and the rest is just reruns. Today felt like my entire life just cycled before me. I think back to a year ago, April 24th. Today felt exactly the same - it's as if nothing changed. Then tonight I saw my first girlfriend ever, from nursery school, 14 years ago. It was so weird. This time of year is always pretty exciting. The end of school, summer, college...all just around the corner. I just wanna be a ghost and get through the rest of school. I don't even hate it anymore. I don't really feel anything towards it anymore. It's over to me. Time to have fun and enjoy Rochacha for another few months. Riight. Haha. Well..here's to May flowers.

man, that was one of the best shows i've ever seen at brighton..it reminded me of when i used to go see my sister's shows, and the stage was just overflowing with talent. everyone just nailed his or her part tonight(and last night), and the show went off so well. after hearing people talking about how certain disasters all week, i was worried that it was gonna be kind of tainted. but it was so good and i'm so proud of everyone, great job guys. toodles.

I don't know if there's anything I like more than Indian Summer days. Today brought me so many good memories at once..and just everything associated with summer...going to hit balls and driving fast w/ the sunroof open made me realize how much I'm looking forward to this spring and summer. Alex and I went over to Big Oak, which was packed with people who can't wait till the snow is gone and the sun is out...just catching their one day in the sun that might be the only one for a while. Tonight I went over to watch Matt's first sectional game, which they won(of course) and was well worth the 3 dollars they charged(actually...). and I had good company to enjoy the game with. Happy early spring everyone.

Tonight I went to watch the Brighton vs. HAC game. I felt really bad that I was rooting for HAC, but I didn't verbalize it so I guess it's OK. I've been to every HAC game this year, and two Brighton ones...I love watching Marques Williams play, he's unbelievable. Midterms are this week, and then I become a second semester senior. The only thing that's really gonna change is the title though...i've been a second semester senior since freshman year, really. I am in love with Jenna Fain's last post. It's so honest and sincere, and it's ME as well in so many ways. I wish I could write something like that, but I'm too scared and my mind is too cluttered. Maybe someday...anyway...good luck on the mids everyone.

Well I didn't see very many movies this year, which was disappointing, but I saw some damn good ones. I haven't seen all that I want to, but I think I can make my top ten. Here it is for all who care.<br /><br />1. 21 Grams<br />2. Mystic River<br />3. City of God<br />4. Lost in Translation<br />5. Thirteen<br />6. The Man on the Train<br />7. Confidence<br />8. Matchstick Men<br />9. The Shape of Things<br />10. Station Agent

Futily hoping for a snow day...

So this was the worst weekend ever probably. And it was made even worse by the fact that this week is going to be horrendous. Also made worse by all the people who incessantly criticize our government and its leaders, but only complain and never contribute. Like on Eddie's LJ(Eddie, I mean this in no way towards you), that song that Ani wrote..there has never been a perfect administration. Every president is going to have fans and those who hate him, and attacks on Bush's personality are fine, but on the way he runs a nation...I don't think Ani or anyone realizes he's got hundreds of people watching him dot every i and cross every t and he's not truly running anything. This isn't Republican rhetoric..I'm a liberal(albeit a moderate one). But I'm so sick of all the complaining. We need to come together as a country. And those who just complain about the government and never try to contribute are making things a million times worse. And those who protest...they're taking a "financially strapped country" and adding to its debt with all the extra security they require. Everyone should be able to question their government...but the anti-government stuff doesn't help anything. Wow. That came out of nowhere. Well...when I read Eddie's LJ. Sorry Eddie. Nothing against you. Sooo.....my surgery is WEDNESDAY. PLEASE COME VISIT. I'll be out of school Wed, Thurs, Fri, and probably home constantly for a while starting Wednesday. PLEASE PLEASE COME VISIT. YES, YOU. Thank you :) Have a fun day at school...blah...so much for that snow day.

I feel like I'm stuck in purgatory. Everything is so ambiguous - it's all on the verge of being awesome or totally sucking, and it just kind of stays in between. Which is better than hell, I suppose. But things could be awesome right now, and they really kind of suck. So much is missing. Ever have that feeling that something, somewhere is missing and you don't know what? Ever have that feeling about just about everything? Hmmm. Well today was fun, congrats to Sean, he won 4th in the poker tourney. And also, Mr. Law(Cori and Brandon's dad), to get into movies for free, just walks past the ticket guy and says "Hey, I'm back" and they don't wanna look stupid, so they just pretend they know him and say OK. Bah. See ya.

So we woke up at 7 a.m. We drove 2 hours. We sat in a semi-circle and played blackjack. We sat in a crowded room with 130 random guys and played poker. And what an AWESOME day it was. I won a very large amount playing blackjack, and Eli came in 8th place out of those 130 guys in the poker tournament. The long sabbatical from turningstone was well concluded. Sweet.
the D

So Gwen and I arrived safely at Dartmouth after a crazy trek through tons of little hick towns. Mapquest always gives the most fun routes. I woke up and couldn't fall back to sleep, so I decided to write here. The campus is beautiful (albeit freezing cold). Zach has really cool friends that we had dinner with, and although his dorm room is the size of my closet, we all fit comfortably and no one had to sleep outside. Hmm...I hope this weekends help me to sort all the shit that's been going through my head. I feel like there's so much animosity that could be prevented if everyone just..talked? Part of me feels like it's not worth it anymore. Everyone hates the drama, but it's always there and it seems to be unavoidable. Fuck it. I wish to god I had given more thought to graduating early. I need to go to college, start anew, get away from everything. It's like Zach said about Dartmouth...no one dislikes anyone here, they have no reason to, everyone is just a friend. High school was supposed to be better than middle school, and in a way it is, but also it usually just seems like the political shit in middle school never went away, but really just got bigger and worse. But it seems like that doesn't follow with college. Zach said he's got the best of both worlds now, he took what he wanted from high school and stayed in touch with the people he wanted to, and now he's also met a ton of great people here. That sounds so perfect to me. I just can't stand school anymore right now. I'm gonna try and get back to sleep. Hope everyone is having/had a good weekend.

I'm Legal...weeeeee

So it's been a fun couple post-birthday days. And the coolest part is my present, a new digital camera(inspired by Mr. Martin/Supalla). I'm slowly learning how to use it, so I'm gonna post some pics. These are from our poker game this afternoon. Eli, if you're reading this...you might become angry if you look :) <br /><br /><a name="cutid1"></a><br /><img src="http://images.snapfish.com/338%3B38%3B923232%7Ffp46%3Dot%3E232%3A%3D%3B49%3D%3B8%3B%3DXROQDF%3E232346788%3C68%3Bot1lsi"><br /><img src="http://images.snapfish.com/338%3B38%3B923232%7Ffp46%3Dot%3E232%3A%3D%3B49%3D%3B8%3B%3DXROQDF%3E232346788%3C693ot1lsi"><br /><img src="http://images.snapfish.com/338%3B38%3B923232%7Ffp46%3Dot%3E232%3A%3D%3B49%3D%3B8%3B%3DXROQDF%3E232346788%3C69%3Aot1lsi"><br /><img src="http://images.snapfish.com/338%3B38%3B923232%7Ffp46%3Dot%3E232%3A%3D%3B49%3D%3B8%3B%3DXROQDF%3E232346788%3C6%3A2ot1lsi">

Pocket Aces

So today was fun. Eli and I had Alex, Kotok, and Jeff over for some poker and we swept the table. Good times. And the one time Eli had pocket aces...redeal. Hehe. So last night was a good time too...13 was quite an intense movie. And what made it worse was that not only was it true..but if anyone knows Nicole Arcuri..to a less extreme, that was her life last year. And i was there when it started to happen. I really hope a lot of parents see that movie. and eli, we rock at poker. That's all folks...happy yom kippur to all you jews out there.

Lost in Translation

What an incredible movie. Before we went in, Marisa Siegel told us that it sucked and not to see it and that it was long and boring and such. And as much as I loved it, I could see where she was coming from. Its typical audience is divided into three groups during the movie...there are those people like Marisa, who can't see any meaning in the movie and would probably rather watch paint dry. There are those people who admire the movie and can see how artistically strong it is and how the performances, writing and directing are impeccable...but they still aren't really entertained. Then there's the group that I think most of the people there tonight fell into..admiring and respecting the movie and still enjoying it at the same time, basking in the beautiful subtleties. The movie itself could've been a disaster. A different writer, different actors, a different director...it could've just been another art house flop, marred by a too-slow pace and not enough substance. But I was so entranced by every aspect of it..especially Scarlett Johannson. She is just..amazing. My new favorite actress. Acting in this movie must've been really something. Every movement, every word in every phrase, counts for something, somehow. So yeah...if you haven't seen it (I think most of you reading this have)...go. now. word.

In other news...congrats to everyone who got in Chorus Line. I'm very excited to see it...in like 6 months. In other news..AHFskate: g unit. In other news...I'm gonna go try senior bowling tonite. I think it'll be fun, I haven't gone bowling in a while. In other news..I'm done.

Bye Bye Zach

:( Zach just came over to say goodbye. Ah..I haven't gotten so emotional in so long. It's not like he's going on vacation..it's a new stage in his life. Leaving Brighton..probably for good. I mean this year we'll see him intermittently..but then I'll go to college somewhere else..and our breaks will never coincide. It's just a bigger goodbye than I'm used to. And I guess I should start getting used to them now. I'll miss you Zach. We'll miss you.

25TH HOUR STYLE

Fuck the teachers who despise kids and keep teaching..for what, the money? Fuck the parents who think they know more about their kids than the kids themselves. Fuck people who say they are your friend and then maliciously stab you in the back. Fuck the tobacco companies that prey on kids and then actually give money to the Stop Teen Smoking commitees like we're all fucking stupid. Fuck the CEOs and CFOs that make 20 million a year and still feel like they need to cheat honest stockholders out of their money. Fuck people who think life is a movie and it needs to have all the dramatic bullshit that goes on in movies. Fuck the Swedes..equality of results is bullshit, we all start somewhere. Fuck the lawyers who get rapists and child molesters off. Fuck the celebrities who think they can do whatever they want and buy their way out of prison. And most of all, Fuck you RJ. Fuck you. Little by little you fucked everything up.

Bah

Guess I was stupid to think the good times would last more than a few days for me. I think last night was supposed to serve as a wake-up call that summer is officially over, and school is here to stay for a while. I wish last night never happened. Out of all the days in the last year that was probably the one I'd take and toss away. Well, top five anyway..there are quite a few of them. Tonight Sean and I rented Swingers..I'd never seen it before. It put me into at least a slightly better mood, as much as any movie could. Well, one more day of weekend, and then back to school. This is going to be a long year.

And we've made it thus far...

So senior year is here..and it's everything I thought it'd be. I picked out the perfect balance of classes and it worked out great...two easy, fun electives to start off, then my "real" classes, ap lit, ap gov/pol, and env. science, with engel, fredenburg and g smith, three of my favorite people in the school. Then I'm done for the day. Perfect senior schedule. And then day 1 rocked and will rock, lunch w/ sean, eddie, bellie, mal. And for those of you I didn't tell..the girl from the roadrunner commercial is in my art of acting class. How coooool. Hope all of you are having an OK time readjusting to school. The good times will keep on rollin.

Fun times...in Rochacha?

so Zach and I had quite the interesting day. we went over to galyans, got some stuff, went back to his house, ended up picking up Sketch, driving out to the middle of nowhere, came back to pick up Eli, drove out to the middle of nowhere again for dinner, and came to this random place called Carey Lake Diner. And it was fantastic. mmm. We were on our way to the High Falls Show(I was driving Zach's awesome car) when the brakes started acting funny. We pulled over, thought something had blew, but it turns out the emergency brake had somehow been put on and..yeah. So we're coming out the city, and Zach is basically just testing his brakes and not paying attention to where he's going, so of course we get lost. And what's a trip getting lost without Avenue D? Lots of fun, concluded with a fun game of strip poker(don't worry, it wasn't just us guys). A good memory to come back to (school) with.
